What it is

Spiffo Search is a Project Zomboid item search (also known as a loot finder) that helps you look up vanilla Project Zomboid items and see where they are likely to spawn: rooms, containers, loot tables, vehicles, and some world-event / story clutter locations.

It is a static browser tool — search and filtering run on your device over staged game data. There are no accounts and no server-side player database.

This is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Indie Stone or Project Zomboid.

How it works

Search by item name (or open a Top search).
Open an item to see spawn context: rooms, containers, and related tables.
Where useful, open the world map to pin likely building sites for that item’s rooms.

Item icons and detail shards load on demand so the first page stays light. Clear site cache from the footer if something looks stuck after an update.

About spawn chances

Percentages are approximate guides, usually computed under default Normal loot settings (lootModifier = 1). They are not a guarantee of what you will find in a save.

Results can differ when you change sandbox options such as:

Loot rarity / abundance
Zombie density and related world settings
Mods that alter distributions or containers
Newer game builds than the dataset version below

World-event style spawns may show a share within a category rather than a map-wide percentage. Read the reason text on each row when it is present.

World map

After you open an item, use the map link on its detail view to jump to the world map with site pins for matching rooms (buildings, roads, forest, and labels when available). Opening the map with no item selected is not supported — start from search instead.

If the game updates loot tables or map layout, this site may lag until the dataset is rebuilt.
